TMS track opens at Greybull

The Thermopolis Middle School track team had their first meet Saturday, at the Greybull Middle School Invitational.

Coach Stephanie Czarobski said Deven Landon, an eighth grade student new to track, performed phenomenally. She’s also excited to see how well Logan Cole does this year. Both boys took high places in their events.

Czarobski further mentioned Aydan Cox’s strong performance in the 200 meters, and Adley Coyne’s fourth place in the high jump, an event he competed in for the first time.

As for the girls, Czarobski said Brianna DeVries did well and she looks like she’s been conditioning. Jasmine Collins also did well, taking second in the 800 meters and 1600 meters. Czarobski also commended the performance of a couple new sixth grade girls, Skarlett Hultman and Brooklyn Cooley.

The sixth-graders were competitive, Czarobski said, noting this was a smaller meet and there were only four entries per event allowed. The small number of entries is not uncommon, she noted, but it is a bummer as they don’t get to see how well everyone does in given events.

Czarobski said they will definitely try to put some more work in their field events in preparation for the next meet, 2 p.m. Thursday, April 20 at Worland.
