Ty Miller update: It worked

Its not often we have the opportunity to find out what happens to someone after the community has a cookie jar auction, but it has been almost a year since a fundraiser was held for a young man that raised around $11,000.

Ty Miller, who lives in Fargo, N.D., was the recipient of Thermopolis’ generous heart when his grandmother, Sandra Bills, who lives in town, asked about an auction for her grandson who was suffering from a blood disease.

Bills recently reported Miller, who is in eighth grade, has no disease left, that the donor blood he received has multiplied 100 percent.

“He is on no medications and his immunity is kicking in,” Bills said. “He is now your typical 14-year old boy.

“This town has been so fantastic I just wanted to let everyone know it worked!”
