Hubert Donald “Don” Worley, 86, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017, at the Thermopolis Rehabilitation and Care Center following a period of declining health.
Born in Chicago, Ill., on February 15, 1931, he was one of two children of Hubert and Myrtle (Wissman) Worley. Raised by his Irish grandmother, Delia, he graduated from high school at the age of 16 and immediately went to work to assist and care for her.
Don met Joan Hanson, the love of his life at the age of 19 and married her when he was 21.
He and his brother established Worley Bros Painting and Decorating, which was his occupation throughout life. After retirement, Don and Joan moved to Wyoming in the early 2000’s where Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, reading and spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, of Thermopolis; daughter, Karen (Al) Vallee of Thermopolis; son, Donald Worley of Rice Lake, Wis .; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; brother, Richard; and grandson, Will LaBoy.
