Thermopolis Special Olympics Bobcats will be doing their annual Jackalope Jump at Hot Springs County High School March 25, starting at noon.
This is the only fundraiser for the local Special Olympics team and they use the funds that are raised to help out the athletes with registration fees, hotel costs, and meal costs throughout the years’ competitions.
The athletes have also been raising funds from the different businesses in Thermopolis. The athletes are extremely appreciative for the support that they have already received from some of the generous businesses.
The Jackalope Jump is a wild, fun, crazy fundraising event and a great way to show your community support for the Special Olympics athletes.
During the jump, the team member jumps into a freezing cold pool of water.
Grab your friends, neighbors and co-workers and form a team!
Individual plungers are also welcome. Individual jumpers will need to raise $100 to participate in the event. A team of five or more has a goal of a minimum of $50 for each jumper in the group.
If you are interest in donating please contact Special Olympics Advisor Tom Olsen at 864-4122 or 921-0730 or Special Olympics Coach Lauri Olsen at 921-0807.
Get creative and come ready to win one of the contests they’re having for best costume, largest group, most money raised by a group, most money raised by an athlete or most money raised by an individual.
The high school cheerleaders and their advisor, Tracy Medina, are sponsoring the jump.
