Thermopolis Rehabilitation Care Center (TRCC) received a Nursing Home Quality Award from Mountain-Pacific Quality Health, designated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as the Quality Innovation Network-Quality Improvement Organization for Wyoming, during the Wyoming Health Care Association's Annual meeting in Casper.
TRCC received the award for outstanding performance in providing excellent care.
Awardees were required to be in good standing with Wyoming's regulatory agency for licensing and certification, the Office of Healthcare Licensing and Survey, and had to achieve a National Nursing Home Quality of Care Composite score of 6.0 or lower at least one time during 2015.
The composite score is a system created to assess quality of care in long-term care facilities and is based on 13 quality measures, so the lower the score, the better.
"It is an honor to receive this award on behalf of all of our hard working team members," Executive Director Toby Homi said. "We look forward to continued excellence in the service of our great community."
The Quality of Excellence Award is the highest level of Nursing Quality Awards and TRCC was one of just nine long-term care facilities in Wyoming to meet the qualifications.
