Cinnamon roll orders being taken

The Hot Springs County Senior Citizens Center is currently taking orders for cinnamon rolls.

Executive Director Chanda Waddell said the rolls will be made on two Saturdays — March 4 and 11 — and Monday, March 13. Orders must be in at least a day prior to the “bake days.” This means orders must be in by Friday March 3 for the March 4 bake day and by Friday, March 10 for both the March 11 and 13 bake days.

Waddell explained the kitchen staff makes the rolls, and the Golden Age Club pays for ingredients and boxes for transport. Office staff including Waddell, Trenda Moore and Roxie Braley will box and wrap the rolls, and volunteers will help deliver them. Waddell noted Office Manager Mandi Reynolds previously worked in the kitchen, and will return there during the bake days to help out.

The rolls have never been made on Saturdays previously, Waddell said, and she plans to provide lunch for seniors at the center those days as well.

Rolls are $1.50 each or $18 per dozen, with proceeds benefitting the center. Waddell said this is one of the biggest fundraisers they have. To order your treats, stop by the center at 206 Senior Ave. or call 864-2151.
