Knights of Columbus raffle winners

For the last few months the Knights of Columbus, through St. Francis’ Catholic Church, have been selling raffle tickets for your chance to win a quarter beef.

The winners were drawn on Feb. 12, with the meat going to two local winners and two out of town winners. Each quarter weighs around 180 lbs.

One quarter goes to Dan Dombeck of Thermopolis and the second quarter goes to Pastor Chuck Cooper, also of Thermopolis. The third quarter will be filling the freezer of Maxine Ruppert of Basin, with the final quarter going to Corey Pickett of Sheridan.

Although they are still tallying numbers, the group estimates they made between $2,000 and $3,000 on the project. Somewhere between 250 and 300 tickets were sold.

All of the monies raised go directly to things needed at the church and to three or four charities the group donates to each year.
