Under the supervision of University of Wyoming Extension Educator Chance Marshall, right, Chandler Maddock palpates and feels for the cervix of the cow as part of the Cattle Artificial Insemination School. Maddock along with Barbara Kissel and Jessie Pennoyer attended the school in Riverton in December. The hands-on course teaches AI palpation and technique, anatomy and physiology, genetic selection, estrus synchronization, nutrition, heifer development and equipment use. The students attended the intense four-day class and are now certified to perform bovine AI.
