The Board of Trustees of Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital, recently announced Margie Molitor, FACHE, accepted the permanent position of CEO beginning Jan. 1. In June Molitor was brought in as the interim CEO by HealthTechS3, which contracts with the hospital, following the resignation of Robin Roling.
Molitor began her career as a registered nurse, and was a chief nursing officer for 14 years followed by 12 years as a CEO. She earned her nursing degree from South Dakota State University in Brookings in 1984, and worked for Banner Health for 24 years in small hospitals in South Dakota, Utah, Nebraska and Wyoming.
Accredited as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Molitor went to work for HealthTechS3 in 2014, and has had several interim CEO assignments in the last several years. Prior to her interim assignment at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital, she was the interim CEO at South Big Horn County Hospital District in Basin.
Molitor said she was really pleased with the board’s decision. She has enjoyed working with the hospital these past six months in an interim capacity, so when she was asked to stay it was an easy decision.
The primary focus for Molitor has been the election, which resulted in the formation of a hospital district and the establishment of a special one percent tax to collect funding for an expansion for the hospital. Molitor noted the expansion will likely be a focus for her in the coming years, and she also wants to make sure the hospital is continually improving.
Molitor is excited to be a part of the community and involved with people who are engaged in their healthcare, and she looks forward to being here for many years to come.
Hospital Board Chairman Bill Williams commented, “Both the current hospital board and the newly elected district board were very pleased that Margie was willing to shed the ‘interim’ title for the permanent CEO position at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital. Hers was the first name we considered when we needed an interim and she moved seamlessly to assume leadership of the hospital in June. She is well liked and respected by the staff, board and the community as a whole. We are happy to welcome her as our permanent CEO to oversee the exciting future of our hospital.”
HealthTechS3 President Neil Todhunter added, “We worked with the Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital Board throughout the placement process. Once Margie decided she would like to be included in the CEO search, the board looked at her good work and concluded it was in the best interest of the hospital to hire her on a permanent basis. Margie has roots in Wyoming and is a very experienced and talented professional.”
