Festival of Trees set for Dec. 1

Mark your calendar today for the Annual Thermopolis Festival of Trees, Thursday, Dec. 1 at the Wyoming Dinosaur Center.

Everyone is invited to come have dinner at 6 p.m. and then remain for the auction that begins at 6:30.

One of the organizers of the event, Stephanie Richert, said all of the trees have been reserved and there are a limited number of wreaths and “other” decoration spots available.

Those who have reserved trees may begin decorating Monday, Nov. 28, but must be finished by Nov. 30.

All proceeds from the festival are donated to the Thermopolis Community Fund, which helps various organizations throughout the year.

Some of last year’s $18,000 proceeds were given to organizations like the Cowboy Rendezvous Rodeo, Children’s Resource Center, Main Street Thermopolis, the Senior Center and the fourth grade Yellowstone Expedition at Ralph Witters Elementary.
