Hot Springs County High School's Lady Bobcats are heading into their last week of regular season play.
Last Saturday, the Lady Cats traveled to Rawlins to take on the Outlaws, losing three games to one.
Thermop won the first round 23-25 before dropping the next three 25-23, 25-20 and 25-20.
"We are very evenly matched with Rawlins," coach Shannon Hill said. "Each game could have gone either way, it was just for a few errors on our part making it so we couldn't quite pull out the match.
"Rawlins is a very scrappy team, not letting very many balls drop on their side, but our girls did a nice job of finding the holes in their defense. We struggled a little in the blocking department during this match, which made it difficult to finish.
"The frustrating part is that we were right there whole time. We will most likely see this team at Regionals, so it is imperative that we come in mentally and physically prepared."
Topping off the team stats against Rawlins: Makayla George with 13 kills and three blocks. Kelly Johnson had six kills and three blocks. Lizzy Lofink dropped five kills and had six digs. Maggie Ryan had 10 digs and one ace to add to her record.
This will be a busy weekend for the girls, traveling to Buffalo on Friday, then traveling to Douglas on Saturday for conference matches.
Friday's games in Buffalo begin at 4 p.m. while conference play on Saturday will begin at 8 a.m.
