Roy Mayfield

Roy L. Mayfield, 63, of Thermopolis, passed away Friday, October 14, 2016, at the Wind River Rehabilitation-Wellness Center in Riverton, Wyo.

 Born April 18, 1953, in Cheyenne, Wyo., he was the son of Conrad and Marjorie (Lawrence) Mayfield. The family moved to California where Roy graduated from Napa Valley, Calif., high school. He served four years in the US Air Force, then four years in the US Army.

 A carpenter by trade, he helped build Pinnacle Bank in Cody, Wyo. He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting, camping, reading, cooking and trying new recipes.

 In 1989 Roy married Billee Dockery at the Dockery Ranch in Hot Springs County, Wyo. The couple had one son, Cody.

 Survivors include his wife, Billee and son, Cody of Thermopolis; stepfather and mother, Mel and Marge Slack of Thermopolis; brother, Jack Mayfield, of Thermopolis; sons, Scott, Aaron, Jess and Jerry Mayfield; daughters, Petra and Tammy; brothers, Bruce and Mike Slack; sisters, Evelyn and Nancy; and five grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his father; stepbrother, Skip; and sister, Martha.

 Memorial services will be Tuesday, October 25 at 3 p.m. at the Community Federated Church in Thermopolis. Pastor Chuck Cooper will officiate. A luncheon will follow services.
