Another first for cross country

The Thermopolis Cross Country team had another great performance in Powell, stated Coach Brenna Abel, as the girls team took first place yet again, taking 38 points and beating second place Cody by 12 points.

The majority of the girls had career personal records for the day.

The meet was also Conference for the middle school runners, and the girls team placed fourth. Coach Abel pointed out Hallie Martinez got 10th place on her All-Conference honors.

The middle school had a great season, Abel stated, "It's nice to have a culminating event. We had lots of PR's at this last meet in Powell." She hopes to get the four eighth-graders out for high school cross country next year and continue building the program. Emme Norsworthy and Jasmine Collins have participated in cross country for three years and have been great models for the middle school athletes, Abel stated.
