Hosing down the sage

Firefighters respond to a grass fire on Black Mountain Road shortly before noon Monday. In addition to battling flames, wet ground caused vehicles to get stuck, though they were able to get out and still provide assistance. Seventeen personnel and five vehicles responded to the fire, which took about 4.5 hours to put out, burned about 17 acres, but there was no structure damage.
