Saturday night's Friends of NRA banquet grossed nearly $40,000. Net proceeds from the event will remain in Wyoming to be awarded as grants for local gun clubs, 4-H shooting clubs, and other organizations that support and encourage safe firearm use.
An estimated 143 people attended the banquet. Although there were 150 total tickets available for the event, with the new venue, the room was packed lending an air of excitement.
The highest selling item of the night was the Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5 Creedmore going for $1,325 with the Friends of the NRA Gun of the Year, a Montana Rifle American Legends .300 Win Mag Rifle, being a close second.
A total of 23 firearms were offered during the event, both through drawings, raffles and the auction.
