Middle school football kicks off at home

The Thermopolis middle school football team will open its season this weekend, with a home game against Lander, scheduled to begin 10 a.m. Saturday.

Filling out the roster this year are eighth-graders Jackson Jenson, Kyle Roessing, Logan Cole, Remington Feree, Tyson Medina, James Lindquist and Landon Sosa, along with seventh-graders Josh Roberson, William Clark, Eli McCumber, Adley Coyne, Jack Ream, Austin Barral, Wyatt McDermott, Kaden Snooks, Hazen Thurgood, Jase Longwell, Alec Rowan and Jason Bowman,

Coach CJ Scholl stated, “We are very excited for the year we don’t have the numbers we have had in the past but we do have a group of boys who want to play ball.

Practice has been going very well it has the coaching staff very excited about this weekend, and the games to come. The big skill we need to work on so far is conditioning. We have small numbers so many of the players will be playing both ways so having the stamina to compete at their highest level will be very important.”

Tuesday, Sept. 13 — Rocky Mountain @ Basin, 4:30 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 22 — @ home against Worland, 4:30 p.m.
