Van Heule returns home as pharmacist

Vicklund Pharmacy has a new face - that of 2008 Hot Springs County High School graduate Ben Van Heule.

Van Heule said he spent six years earning his doctorate in Pharmacy at the University of Wyoming before beginning his career in Riverton.

"I started out in Riverton and things weren't working out with my job, so I started applying for new jobs," he said. "I called Tony [Deromedi] for a reference. I'm glad to be back and very grateful that Tony offered me the job."

Van Heule said he interned at Vicklund Pharmacy for two or three summers during college.

"It's a good job in healthcare and allows you to live pretty much anywhere," he said. "I've always wanted to stay in Wyoming. It's a job that allowed me to stay close to home."

With lots of family in town, Van Heule said he is happy to be home.

"I love being back in Thermopolis, seeing lots of people that I know," he said. "It's just a good community to be back in."
