The 2016 Hot Springs County High School Athletics Hall of Fame has been announced.
Bobcat Athletics Hall of Fame Chairman Mark Whitt said the Hall of Fame was established in 2006 as a way to recognize the many great athletes, coaches, teams, administrators and community members that have been a part of Bobcat athletics over the years. The Hall of Fame induction will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 15 at the Hot Springs County High School Commons.
The class of 2016 Hall of Fame includes athlete William “Bill McCormick, who was a three-sport letterman in football, swimming and track & field; athlete Nate Miller, who was a four-year letterman in football and basketball for the Bobcats; coach/administrator Alex McDougall, who coached over 25 years in Thermopolis; and the 1971 Swimming Team, who compiled a regular season record of 9-7.
Previous Hall of Fame Inductees for 2007 include athlete Ginger Baird Ward, athlete Jennifer Miller, athlete JB Roden, athlete Don Campbell, the 1922 Track Team and special contributor Cal Voigt. Hall of Fame Inductees for 2008 are athlete Shawnda Mead Adams, athlete Elizabeth Brown, athlete John Pilch, athlete George “Moe” Radovich and special contributors Pinky and Goldie Warren. Hall of Fame Inductees for 2009 include athlete Shannon Jones Shaffer, athlete Marta Raicevich Hartman, athlete Joe McKethen, athlete Don Bracken, coach/administrator E.J. “Joe” Bush, the 1954 Boys Basketball Team and special contributor Earl Myers. Hall of Fame Inductees for 2010 are athlete Tammi Johnson, athlete Bill Bush, the 1990 football team and special contributor Joe Doak. The Hall of Fame Inductees for 2011 are athlete John Curtin, athlete Steve Rea, the 1952 Boys Basketball team and special contributor Pat Schmidt.
