Darlene 'Dolly' Baker

Darlene Elizabeth Baker, known as Dolly, 83, passed away June 16, 2016, at her home in Longmont, Colo.

She was born August 18, 1932, in Gebo, Wyo., to Roy and Rachel (Schuman) Warren. Dolly attended school through junior high in Thermopolis, Wyo., and then attended a Christian boarding school in Waxahachie, Texas, graduating high school.

She moved from Boulder, Colo., to Longmont in 1969 where she has resided since, and was a long time member of New Creation Church.

Dolly was an accomplished seamstress. She ran "Dolly Baker" Custom Sewing from her basement shop where she had a steady flow of customers.

Dolly loved singing and was a 50-year member of the Sweet Adeline's International. She was most recently a member of the A Cappella Electric Chorus and the Lolli (Little Old Ladies Laughing Incessantly) Quartet. Sweet Adelines provided her the opportunity to practice her two loves, singing and sewing. She sang in two International Championship Chorus, and designed and made most of the beautiful costumes used by the chorus in competitions and concerts.

Dolly is survived by her son Randy (Valerie) Baker; grandchildren Steffenie Wright, Caleb Baker and Robert Baker; and great-grandchildren Alexandra and Clara Wright.

She was preceded in death by son Wesley Ralph Baker; her parents, and siblings Charles Warren, Marie Enis and Sally Stanton.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2016, at New Creation Church. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Visit http://www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com to share condolences.
