The Old West Quilt Guild made and donated an alphabet quilt to the Hot Springs County Library. Members of the guild include Margie Jackson, Jackie Connolly, Georgeanne Hammond, Nellie Corley, Liz Smith, Peggy Faler, Tracey Van Heule, Cindy Toth, Janice Dunbar, Marge Slack and Kathy Hammond.
Kathy Hammond said it was yearlong project for the guild.
"It was our intent to give it to the library," Hammond said. "We like to do stuff in our quilt guild that helps the community. It was truly a group effort and a lot of fun."
Hammond said one of the reasons the group decided to take on this project was not only to support the community and the library but to support the summer reading program.
"We wanted to give something to the library that would support the summer reading program," she said. "When kids go to the summer reading program, they will get to see the quilt."
