Main Street Thermopolis appoints new board member

Main Street Thermopolis appointed Suzanne Samelson to the board at last Thursday's meeting.

The board discussed the PRCA Rodeo Dance, for which nearly everything is in place. The music has been finalized and will feature The Rewinders from 9 p.m. till midnight. Adult beverages will be provided by Shorty's Liquor and One Eyed Buffalo.

The new ornament was also discussed at the meeting. The board received a preliminary sketch of the proposed ornament, featuring both the original and new Las Fuentes building. In the sketch, the new Las Fuentes building was more prominent than the original building. Board member Deb Tudor suggested the original building be more prominent than the new building. The board agreed with the suggestion and decided to have the sketch redone with those guidelines.

The Technical Assistance Funds (TAF) application Main Street Thermopolis requested in the amount of $9,100 was denied. Main Street Thermopolis intends to reapply for TAF next year, with a better understanding of requirements for the application.

Due to scheduling conflicts, the board moved their next meeting from 6 p.m. June 23 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 15 at the Main Street Thermopolis Office.
