The Wyoming State Association of Letter Carriers is hosting a Randy Maxwell Memorial MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association) Miniature Golf Tournament beginning at 6 p.m. for individuals and 7 p.m. for teams June 2 at Dairyland Putt-Putt. Registration is still available.
President for the Wyoming State Association of Letter Carriers Rene Eberhardt said 100 percent of proceeds from the tournament will go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
"We try to do something to raise money for muscular dystrophy every year," she said. "Randy Maxwell was the former president for the Wyoming State Association of Letter Carriers who passed away from ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). We've seen first-hand how devastating it can be, so it is a cause that is very close to our hearts."
Eberhardt said this is the first miniature golf tournament for the cause. There will be games, prizes and silent auction items. There will also be a mini-mini putt-putt game with popsicle sticks and gumballs.
"It's going to be a fun, wacky event," she said. "It's going to be a blast for a good cause."
Eberhardt said several individuals and teams have already signed up for the tournament.
"We have already received a great response by the community," she said. "It's a very fun and caring community."
Prizes will be given for highest score, most out of bounds, most hole-in-ones and best behind the back hole. A grand prize of a weekend (two-night stay) at the Parkway Plaza and mini golf for four in Casper will also be given.
Individuals and teams can sign up for the tournament at Dairyland or by calling 307-751-3393. Hole sponsorships are also still available.
