Jody Gene Ramsey, 61, of Rawlins, Wyo., passed away on May 16, 2016, from injuries sustained in a truck accident.
He was born May 22, 1954, in Basin, Wyo., to William L. Ramsey and Leone H. (Lawrence) Ramsey. Jody grew up in Thermopolis, Wyo., and graduated from Hot Spring County High School. He then worked in the oilfields and joined the National Guard; he later transferred into the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged in 1974. He then attended Alpena Community College in Michigan.
Jody drove a truck for a living and at one point owned his own trucking company, Stray Dog Cartage. He enjoyed fishing and boating, and is remembered as a man of integrity who was sociable and kind hearted.
Jody is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Ramsey; sons, Triston Ramsey of Rawlins, Jeremy Ramsey of Minot, N.D., and Jared (Kasandra) Ramsey of Rawlins; mother, Leone H. Ramsey; brother, Lonny Ramsey of Thermopolis, Wyo.; two grandchildren; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, William L. Ramsey; and brother Darrell Ramsey.
