Gary Stegman

Gary Allan Stegman, 60, of Greybull, Wyo., passed away on May 12, 2016, in Spirit Mountain Hospice at Cody, Wyo., after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Lovell, Wyo., to Edgar A. and Verdell A. Stegman on February 21, 1956. He graduated high school in Thermopolis in 1974. On November 6, 2013, Gary and Carla Heath were married. He had a long career of 39 years with the Burlington Railroad just recently retiring March 2016. Gary was always the favorite among his family, he was very generous and no get together was complete without him. Known as "Punkin' Head" by friends and coworkers Gary's great sense of humor could get people laughing. He loved to tease, even with people he just met. He seldom missed a gun show and enjoyed various types of shooting, hunting and fly-fishing.

Gary is survived by his wife, Carla; parents, Ed and Verdell Stegman of Thermopolis; brothers, Martin L. Stegman of Cody, Donald E. Stegman of Basin, and Kurt N. Stegman of Thermopolis; sister, Barbara A. (Gary M.) Munger of Thermopolis; nephews, Lyle J. Casciato, Martin L. Stegman II, Jeremiah Stegman, and Aaron M. Munger.

Gary was preceded in death by his grandparents; and sister-in-law, Patricia J. Stegman. 

Ballard Funeral Home in Cody is assisting the family with cremation and no services are planned at this time.
