Restaurant, golf course host summer kick off

The school year’s winding down, the weather finally looks like it’s made up its mind to warm up quite a bit more and summer is officially a few weeks away. To celebrate, Stones Throw Restaurant and Bar, along with the Thermopolis Golf Course, will host a Kickoff to Summer 2016 on Saturday, June 4.

The fun begins at 3 p.m. with a 9-hole two-person golf scramble, followed by a putting contest. Teams who want to participate in the scramble must sign up prior to the event by calling the pro shop at 864-5294; those who want to get in on the putting contest can sign up the day of the Kickoff.

Beginning at 5 p.m. outside the restaurant and pro shop, there will be barbecue food specials and Hawaiian kabobs featuring pineapple, peppers, mushrooms and onions with a choice of beef, chicken or shrimp. Hawaiian drink specials such as Mai Thais, Bahama Mamas and Pina Coladas are also available, and those attending are encouraged to dress in Hawaiian style, including floral print shirts, coconut bikinis and grass skirts if they have them.

Live music starts at 5:30 p.m., and featured artists will be the Silver Tip String Band and Blackwater.

Those who want to go on a tour have their option of the Taste of Wyoming Beer Tour, featuring eight or nine draft beers, or the Taste of Wyoming Wine Tour with three selections. Purchase of a tour ticket includes a Stones Throw glass, which gives the holder discounted refills during the Kickoff and any other time they present it at the bar.
