The Hot Springs County Board of Commissions approved a subject land use change and signed an acknowledgement of receipt for the 2016 Hot Springs County Abstract assessment acting as the Hot Springs County Board of Equalization on Tuesday.
The board held a public hearing regarding the subject land use change for the Ross Subdivision. There was no public comment on the matter.
County Planner Bo Bowman explained that Robert Ross requested approval from Hot Springs County for a preliminary subdivision plat to establish two lots of approximately 15 acres and 20 acres and a land use change to reclassify the property as residential.
Bowman also explained several conditions Ross must meet upon approval. The conditions are that the preliminary plat shall expire one year after the date of its approval and the final plat for this subdivision shall be submitted for the County's review and approval prior to the expiration, a weed management plan shall be submitted for the review and approval of staff, a notation shall be placed on the final plat stating that any future residence on Lot 1 may connect to the Owl Creek Water District if it is cost-effective to do so and the land use change shall go into effect upon recordation of the final subdivision plat.
The board approved the subject land use change as well as the two-lot subdivision subject to the five conditions with the addition of a condition to verify that the subdivision meets state statutes.
