School board approves hires

The Hot Springs County School Board held a special meeting Monday to approve staffing recommendations and to discuss a student matter.

The board approved the resignation of Jack Beckwith as bus driver effective May 19, Jack Wilson as bus driver effective May 27 and Wanda Wilson as bus driver effective May 27.

The board also approved several new hires, including Nancy Scovil as bus driver effective Aug. 17, Kathernia Tanner as crossing guard effective April 25, Tyler Cornwell as summer grounds maintenance effective May 23, Jonah Cook as summer grounds maintenance effective May 16 and Austin Rush as summer grounds maintenance effective May 16.

The board also held an executive session during which they approved the expulsion of a student from Hot Springs County School District for the remainder of the 2015-16 school year.
