Floyd Benjamin French

Floyd Benjamin French, 91, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Thermopolis Rehabilitation and Care Center after a period of declining health.

 He was born August 19, 1924, in Mountain Grove, Mo., to Roy and Ruth (Barber) French. He grew up on a farm in northeast Colorado.

 After serving in the US Army at the end of WWII, Floyd returned to farming. On June 12, 1949, he married Letamae Adkisson in Lincoln, Neb. They were blessed with five children: Scot, Kerry, John, Miriam and Roy. The family moved to Denver in 1953 where Floyd worked as a machinist and raised most of their family. After working in Lincoln, Neb., they moved to Peetz, Colo., where he worked for and managed a service station for The Peetz Farmers Co-op. In 1995, Floyd and Letamae moved to Thermopolis to be near family and the Hot Springs. In retirement Floyd enjoyed yard work and his woodworking shop.

 He is survived by his wife of 66 years of Thermopolis; sons, Scot (Bobbie) of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas, and Roy (Hayette) of Omaha, Neb .; daughters, Kerry (Lyle) Grossman of Thermopolis and Miriam (Tim) Ridolfi, Bella Vista, Ark .; sister, Winifred Collins of Broomfield, Colo .; sister-in-law, Doris French of Tucson, Ariz .; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five great, great-grandchildren; and family friend, Sandy French, Elgin, S.C.   

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John (2015); two brothers; and two sisters.

 Private family graveside services will be Saturday, April 2 at Monument Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a donation would be appreciated to the VFW Post #2281 or the Senior Citizens Center.
