2:59 p.m. Vehicle fire at mile marker 139 on Highway 20 North.

Sheriff’s department

 Tuesday, March 22

4:07 p.m. A dead deer was reported at 458 Lindsey Lane. Game and Fish was also notified and the situation was resolved.

Wednesday, March 23

1:32 p.m. Report of property damage at 1450 Owl Creek Road. A juvenile subject damaged an ankle monitor. Pictures and report of the incident were forwarded to the county attorney.

8:34 p.m. Report of goats in a yard. Deputy spoke with complainant about the issue, and the owner of the animals was issued a warning.

Thursday, March 24

10:35 a.m. An inmate was taken to Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital.

2:09 p.m. A deputy was called for a citizen assist, but the call was cancelled before he arrived.

Sunday, March 27

7:22 a.m. Deputy was called to a fight at a residence on Weed Way. The incident was verbal, with no physical injuries or arrests made.

Police department

Tuesday, March 22

10:11 a.m. A set of keys was found at Hot Springs County Library and placed in inventory.

11:25 a.m. Report of a woman in the downtown area, with no coat on, who seemed unsteady. A responding officer was unable to locate the woman.

Wednesday, March 23

9:36 a.m. A vehicle parked in the 600 block of Broadway rolled into a pole while the driver was away.

12:54 p.m. Report of a subject in the 400 block of Sixth Street stealing a bottle of alcohol. Contact was made with David Roberson, who was cited for shoplifting. Roberson admitted to two prior incidents, and was arrested on a warrant.

1:24 p.m. Report of trash dumped on private property in the 500 block of South 11th. An officer noticed people doing landscaping nearby, who agreed to clean up the mess.

8:18 p.m. Report of a dog locked in a kennel and barking in the 900 block of Amoretti. The animal’s owner was contacted, and said he would take the dog inside.

Thursday, March 24

6:56 a.m. Report of a car egged in the 400 block of Mondell during the night.

9 a.m. Report of trash accumulating in the 500 block of Warren. The property owner said someone was dumping on the property. Some of the trash was determined to be from other sources and the town maintenance crew was contacted to help with cleanup.

9:14 a.m. Report of a white Pomeranian at large. An officer picked up the dog, which had no collar or identification, was taken to the pound. The owner later picked up the dog after paying fees.

11:33 a.m. Report of a springer spaniel at large in the 1000 block of Shoshoni. An officer took the dog to the pound, and the owner picked it up after paying fees and getting the dog licensed.

4:42 p.m. Report of someone hitting a vehicle in the 200 block of Canyon Hills with an egg.

Friday, March 25

7:40 a.m. Parking complaint in the 200 block of Springview, due to congestion in the bus lot. The situation was corrected as the officer arrived.

10:36 a.m. Report of a dog hit by a car and killed in the 200 block of Clark.

3:47 a.m. Request for an officer to do a civil standby during a child custody exchange. The exchange happened without incident.

7:11 p.m. Report of a vehicle parked on East Arapaho, that had a window broken out within the past three hours.

8:52 p.m. Report of a party from out of town parked in a motel parking lot. A local red Dodge was circling the visiting vehicle. There was no confrontation or altercation.

Saturday, March 26

5:19 p.m. Caller reported a dog followed him home. An officer arrived, and as he was putting the animal in his vehicle the dog’s owner arrived. The owner was cautioned against letting his dog run at large.

8:13 p.m. REDDI call for a potential drunk driver. Responding officer was unable to locate the vehicle.

10:25 a.m. Caller reported seeing two people in the buffalo pasture attempting to take pictures of the animals. Complainant thought the two were too close. The officer was unable to locate them.

Sunday, March 27

6:17 p.m. Report of a pit bull missing in the 500 block of Mondell. Owner called a second time and reported the dog returned home.

Monday, March 28

9:23 a.m. Report of a puppy’s head stuck in a gate in the 1000 block of Warren. The dog was freed and the area of the gate was blocked to prevent further incidence.

5:52 p.m. A vehicle in the lot at the Hot Springs State Park was struck by a second vehicle, receiving damage to the driver’s side quarter rear panel.

6:03 p.m. An officer was requested at Pioneer Home as an African gray parakeet had been stuck in a tree for about 27 hours. It is unknown if the bird was retrieved.

Circuit court

Michael Farmer was found guilty of breach of peace, and sentenced to 15 days in jail with 15 days suspension and three months unsupervised probation. Fees and fines are $190.

David Roberson was found guilty of two counts of shoplifting under $1,000, and sentenced to 30 days in jail with 27 days suspension and six months unsupervised probation. Fines and fees are $380.

Birth

Raina Lynn Olsen was born Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at Powell Valley Healthcare to Jan and Russell Olsen of Meeteetse.

She weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce.

Grandparents are Randall and Violet Olsen of Thermopolis and Brian and Jane Robertson of Cody.
