HSCHS Drama Club spring show planned

Hot Springs County High School Drama Club will be performing their spring show on March 29, 31 and April 1 at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium.

This spring the drama club is putting on a theatre revue. There are three different scenes, a musical number, performances by the senior speech and debate students and a one act show. The underlying theme for the scenes and one act are parodies of Shakespearean shows and characters.

The first scene to be performed is “A Short History of Dating” by Matt Thompson. The performers in this scene are Aaron Hanson as the Host, Eryn Robinson as Cleopatra, Kameron Olsen as Julius Caesar, and Ryan Slagle as Marcus Anthony.

The second scene is called “Shakespeare, Horny Toads and Banana Peels” by David J. LeMaster. There are three roles in this show played by Danielle Randolph, Fawn Rush and Aressa Goodrich.

The next scene is a medley of musical songs performed by Fawn Rush, ShayLynn Skar, Danielle Randolph, Eryn Robinson, Aaron Hanson, Breanna Peterson, Zoe Stone and Darren Leonhardt.

The fourth scene being performed is called “Macbeth Mixed Up” by Wade Bradford. This scene features Fawn Rush as Hagatha, Amanda Dinsmore as Izzy, Zoe Stone as Gwenda and Darren Leonhardt as Macbeth. Following this scene will be performances from the senior speech and debate students.

After a short intermission, the students will perform the one act show, “Game of Tiaras” by Don Zolidis. This one act will feature all of the students involved in the first half of the evening. “Game of Tiaras” is similar to “Game of Thrones” but with fairy tale princesses. This show will contain all of the drama of Shakespearean pieces and “Game of Thrones” without any of the gore.

The technical crew for the entire evening includes Dakota Prosser (sound and lights), Mikayla Lanik (lights and props), Ben Manning (set crew), Jaydon Weaver (set crew) and Aaron Goodrich (set crew).

The evening will be packed with performances. There is no admission fee, but donations are appreciated. All donations go directly to the drama club for expenses for state competition and for props, costumes, makeup and other materials for performances.
