TMS Spelling Bee qualifiers

Thermopolis Middle School has announced the finalists for the 2016 Spelling Bee set for Friday, Feb. 12 at 10:30 a.m. in the TMS gym.

Students from each grade level participated in a written test with top finishers qualifying for the oral contest. During the competition, students in fifth through eighth grade compete against each other.

Students qualifying for the spelling bee include:

5th Grade

Jackson Reed and Tanner Macie.

6th Grade

Hayden Mayne, Ally Taylor and Kaidy Randall.

7th Grade

KyAnn Calhoun, Matthew Rhodes, Tyson Medina, Mya Conrad, Monte Love and Owen Douglas.

8th Grade

Ashley Brawley, Hannah Hu, Darian Macie, Katie Burrows, Tahja Hunt, Aime Robinson, Teagan Anderson, Deanna Becher, Josh Lackey and Eric Bleak.

The top three finishers in the local contest qualify for the Wyoming State Spelling Bee scheduled for March 12 in Rock Springs.
