Kathyrn “Kathy” Louise Jones, 74, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital after a period of declining health.
Born April 7, 1941, in Thermopolis, Wyo., she was the daughter of Rowland and Anne (Kowlok) Jones. Graduating high school in 1959 she acquired her BA from the University of Wyoming.
For two years she taught in Rock Springs then taught 30 years at Dean Morgan Junior High in Casper as a PE teacher. Kathy returned to Thermopolis in 1998 to care for her mother.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. As a young woman she enjoyed riding her horses in the dressage manner, a skilled form of English riding. Her interests were yard work, the mountains, and target practicing. During her ill health she had a super attitude and never stopped trying.
She is survived by her sister, Marilyn (Cliff) Revelle, of Lovell; niece, Lisa (Kevin) Parker of Biloxi, Miss. and their children Dylan and Derek; and cousins, Ken, Jerry and Rudy Kowlok, Miriam Witters, Dolores Crouch, Judy Birchfield, Gary and Phillip Giannino, Carl Workman and Mary Ann Pyzyna.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and grandparents, William and Catherine Jones and John and Anna Kowlok.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be this summer at St. Francis Catholic Church.
Memorials may be made to Gottsche Wellness Center, St. Francis Church or a charity of choice.
