Robotics teams improve their bots

Two Bobcat robotics teams competed in the Yellowstone RoboRumble Jan. 9 in Powell. The full tournament scrimmage event gave First Tech Challenge teams from around the region a chance to compete head to head using a sports model.

Thermopolis team Aluminati was fourth going into finals and team Fist Full of Axles was seeded ninth.

Aluminati team members include Kayla Anderson, Kole Cox, Aressa Goodrich, Michael Harvey, Kameron Olsen and Matt Tjepkies. Fist Full of Axles team members include Aaron Goodrich, Mechelle Hunt, Daniel Leonhardt, Ben Manning, Lane Randall, Chris Slagle, Wyatt Wright and Shianne Yarrington.

According to coach Steve Radabaugh both teams did well. “We found a few issues with the bots that were improved and both teams have a plan for things to work on before we start attending tournaments in February,” said Radabaugh.

February tournaments the teams plan to attend include Bozeman, Mont. Feb. 5, Casper Feb. 13 and Ogden, Utah Feb. 20.
