Heroes come in all shapes and sizes. When we are small children, they often wear capes and possess power of great magnitude. As we get older our heroes change from the imaginary to those based in reality. Our heroes still possess a power of great magnitude, only they are more tangible and have a great impact in our lives.
Pinnacle Bank has offered a chance for people to thank a hero. Through the use of social media, Pinnacle Bank encouraged everyone to submit a picture of their hero. The submission had to be someone who is a hero in in the eyes of the submitter, followed by an explanation of why that person is a hero.
For each submission Pinnacle Back would pledge a donation to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, American Red Cross and Wounded Warrior Project. Featuring the nominated heroes on the bank’s social media page, members of the audience were asked to vote for their favorite.
The local winning hero is Brenna Rankin. Brenna is courageously battling cancer. Brenna’s family was given the opportunity to choose a local school to receive $500 donation. They chose the Risen Son Christian School.
Sara Rankin, Brenna’s mother, said “We wanted to support Risen Son Christian School because they are unique in that they would help our children to know God and live each day for Him.” Both of Brenna’s parents like the Horizons and A Beka curriculums and how well their son (Raylan) does with them.
“We at Risen Son Christian School are extremely humbled and thankful for their comments and the gift they chose to give the school,” said Tiffany Simeral from Risen Son. The Christian school is a private school that is a 100 percent supported by donations, student tuition and fundraising. “We deeply love the Rankins and are always so thrilled when they and little Brenna visit us. It is a huge honor to be chosen.”Simeral said.
