Unemployment in Hot Springs County holds steady

Wyoming unemployment rate has increased to 4.1% in November, from the previous month of October which was at 4% according to the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services. This is slightly lower number than the 4.3% that was recorded last November.

This is still significantly lower than the U.S. unemployment rate of 5%, last year it was 5.8%. This is the lowest it has been since 2006.

While unemployment rates rose from November 2014-15 in eight counties in Wyoming, it fell in 14 counties. However, in Hot Springs County it has remained unchanged over the last year.

Hot Springs County has a labor force of 2,370 people in November 2015; of that labor force 2,273 are employed leaving a group of 97 people unemployed. The highest rate of unemployment in the state is Teton county at 6.7% and the lowest was Albany and Niobrara county at 2.9%.
