The trial for former Hot Springs County resident Anthony Haire began in the Wyoming Fifth Judicial District Court Monday, Dec. 7, in Worland. Haire, 32, was charged with manslaughter and reckless endangerment in Washakie County over events happening on April 13.
Haire allegedly shot his neighbor, Jamye Don SoRelle, 58, during a dispute over a vehicle and trailer blocking a driveway. Events during the shooting escalated from verbal arguing to SoRelle allegedly being shot several times by Haire. According to the affidavit, SoRelle had a handgun and shot in the direction of Haire and two others before Haire shot the victim.
If convicted, Haire faces up to 20 years in prison, a fine of $10,000 or both. The trial is expected to be concluded by the end of the week.
