On the Record policy

It is the Independent Record’s policy that all people arrested or cited under the “Accidents,” “Sheriff’s office” or “Police calls” in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Tuesday, Nov. 3

11:01 a.m. Report of a injured deer in the Owl Creek area trapped in a feedlot. Game and Fish were contacted to dispatch the deer.

5:43 p.m. Report of a white truck with a red trailer on Highway 20 at mile post 120 broke down. Vehicle was gone when a deputy arrived.

Wednesday, Nov. 4

10:17 a.m. Report of a resident being scammed on Craigs List. Resident was using their Pay Pal account to put $185 plus a $11 transaction fee down on a set of wheels. The resident was contacted by the seller and asking for more money. The seller has been reported to the PayPal fraud department.

3:46 p.m. Compliant of speeding trucks on Sand Draw road.

Thursday, Nov. 5

11:26 a.m. Report of a injured three legged deer running though a residents yard on Laughing Bear road. The call was passed onto the Game Warden.

8:33 p.m. The Wea Market in Meeteetse reported that some one drove off with out paying for their gas and was headed toward Thermopolis.

Friday, Nov. 6

10 a.m. Charles Bradshaw was transported to the Hot Springs County Detention Center by the Wyoming State Penitentiary for a warrant for arrest.

5:10 p.m. Report that someone had shot a BB through a Zupan Electric service truck passenger side window.

Tuesday, Nov. 3

12:30 p.m. Report of a large block of wood in the middle of the road in the 900 block of Shoshoni Street.

Tuesday, Nov. 3

2:23 p.m. A driver backing their vehicle out of a driveway struck an oncoming vehicle in the 100 block of East Arapahoe Street. There were no injuries.

Tuesday, Nov. 3

3:26 p.m. Report of a hit and run in the 700 block of Mondell Street. A 2004 GMC truck was struck while it was parked outside an apartment.

Tuesday, Nov. 3

7:52 p.m. A female resident reported a stranger had knocked on her door. When she answered, the male stranger accused her of wearing his girlfriend’s clothes. The responding officer told the male he could file a report if the clothes had been stolen.

Wednesday, Nov. 4

10:38 p.m. Justin Bleak was cited for domestic battery after alledgedly striking his wife.

Thursday, Nov. 5

10:07 a.m. Report that a resident’s personal checks had been found in the street. Only out of two packages was found.

11:48 p.m. In the 400 block of Maiden Street a mother and daughter trading harassing text messages with another mother and daughter via cellular phones were advised to stop. Both parties agreed to make no further contact with each other in the future.

Saturday, Nov. 7

1:50 a.m. Report of loud music in the Grand View Trailer Park. The officer made contact with the offending party and told them to turn the music down.

1:21 p.m. An iPhone 4s was found in the 1000 block of Warren Street.

Sunday, Nov. 8

2:13 a.m. Report of a broken water line under a hydrant by Sunset and Susan Kay Streets.

4:15 p.m. A resident had called 911 and hung up. When dispatch attempted to call back they received a busy signal. Contact was made with the resident and all was fine.

Monday, Nov. 9

6:31 a.m. Report of a harassing phone call in the 600 block of South 6th, the person was using foul language, caller was using a phone from a local merchant.

2:31 p.m. Report of damage to the roof of the Hazmat trailer parked at the fire hall. Damage appears to be the result of some one walking on it.

8:16 p.m. A family fight between two juveniles resulted in one juvenile being taken into custody for domestic assault and taken to the Casper Juvenile Detention Center.

District court

Rosalee Johnson plead not guilty to charges of theft during her arraignment on Oct. 5. A jury trial is planned for a later date. Johnson is being held at the Hot Springs Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.

Azia Martinez admitted to allegations of petition of revocation of probation Nov. 9. Martinez reported to the Hot Springs County Detention Center Nov. 10 for probation revocation.
