Library hosts Raptor program

The Hot Springs County Library will host the Draper Museum Raptor Experience on Nov. 19 at both 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The show will feature an American Kestrel, Great Horned Owl, Red-tailed Hawk, and a Golden Eagle.

The show will answer a number of viewers’ questions, including why a falcon needs to fly so fast, how a red-tailed hawk kills a rattlesnake, why vultures have featherless heads, and why owls are the same color as tree bark.

Draper Museum Assistant Curator Melissa Hill will give the two presentations and show the raptors to the audience.
