Morrison named new rec director

Brad Morrison is the new director for the Hot Springs County Recreation District.

Originally from Lamar, Colo., Morrison moved to Thermopolis five years ago with his wife, Staci. Once here, Brad found himself coaching high school football and track. He also coached basketball for the middle school.

Morrison is excited for his new position with the recreation district. Through coaching, he has become invested with the kids and is hoping to further that relationship. With his motto of "show up, work hard and handle adversity," Morrison wants to give the right message through educating coaches and parents by working together as a community.

"I'm happy for the opportunity and to make the most of it," Morrison expressed. He also explained how grateful he was to have JoLynn Collins, the interim assistant recreation director, there to help.

As the new Recreation District Director, Morrison wants to optimize what they have, increase participation and get the best gear possible for the kids. He is looking forward to receiving public feedback through their Facebook page.
