On the Record policy

It is the Independent Record's policy that all people arrested or cited under the "Accidents," "Sheriff's office" or "Police calls" in the On the Record section are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Fire department

Tuesday, Oct. 20

7:42 a.m. Responded to a vehicle wreck at mile marker 140.5 on Highway 20 North.

Sheriff's office

Tuesday, Oct. 13

3:39 p.m. Report to Highway Patrol of a red enclosed trailer coming unhitched and travelling through a fence at mile marker 26 on Highway 120. Wrecker was on scene.

Wednesday, Oct. 14

7:52 p.m. Deputy assisted a young female on getting her vehicle returned from a family member.

Friday, Oct. 16

2:36 p.m. Deputy responded to a report of juveniles in Hot Springs State Park throwing knives and axes at a tree.

5:37 p.m. Deputy responded to a scene of loose cattle on Highway 120 at mile post 142. The deputy put the cows in a safe pasture and notified the owner.

8:21 p.m. Deputy responded to a report of a juvenile with a knife during a football game at the High School Football Field. The incident is under investigation.

Police department

Tuesday, Oct. 13

3:54 a.m. Report of a missing person. A mother discovered her son was not in bed. Police did a search and found him at a friend's house and he was told to go home.

10:51 a.m. Report of vandalism to four solar lights. The lights had been destroyed and the batteries thrown into the street in the 600 block of Clark.

Wednesday, Oct. 14

9:03 p.m. Theft of an automobile from the 500 block of Clark Street. Suspects were later found joyriding in the stolen vehicle.

Thursday, Oct. 15

8:10 a.m. Report of a dog barking constantly in the 100 block of Sunset. The owner was notified and took care of the dog.

5:09 p.m. Woman reported her house window had been shot out. Two juveniles were found in the area with air soft pistols. The incident is still under investigation.

Friday, Oct. 16

11:27 a.m. A driver backed a vehicle into another vehicle in a parking lot at 1200 block of Canyon Hills.

Saturday, Oct. 17

6:32 p.m. Officer responded to an accident at 6th and Amoretti Street. The driver of one vehicle failed to yield to the right of way and collided with the second vehicle.

Sunday, Oct. 18

9:08 a.m. A male rottweiler dog escaped its yard in the 900 block of Fremont. The owner was contacted and the dog was returned home

5 p.m. Report of a gun shot in the 1100 block of Broadway. Shooter called dispatch shortly after the initial report and stated he accidentally discharged a firearm.

Monday, Oct. 19

11:46 a.m. Report of cars blocking the alley in the 900 block of Amoretti. The cars were moved so the town can perform maintenance.
