Scattered along the 24 lanes at the bowling center in Casper on Oct. 8 were five Thermopolis athletes competing in the bowling event of Special Olympics of Wyoming. Sponsors Tom and Lauri Olsen roved along the aisle crowded with nearly a thousand athletes, parents, relatives, and friends encouraging and snapping pictures of their charges as they competed.
Earning Gold Medals for the Thermopolis team were David Hansen and Spencer Luce. Ted Clothier brought home a Silver Medal, and Ruth Litizzette and Alan Harsha brought back fourth and fifth place ribbons respectively.
After the event, the athletes were treated to a banquet and dance before returning to Thermopolis.
