Lady Cats continue hot streak against Greybull

The Lady Cats volleyball team continued a string of successes against Greybull on Friday, besting the Lady Buffs in five sets.

The Lady Cats won the first set 25-21, then dropped the next two 21-25 and 13-25, only to come back and win the following sets 25-17 and 15-8.

“We started out strong in the first game and really threw them off of their offense causing us to get a nice lead on them, which allowed us to finish the first game strong,” said coach Shannon Hill.

Hill noted that in the second and third sets the Lady Cats struggled at the net and gave up a lot of unforced errors, which let Greybull take a two sets to one lead over the Lady Cats.

“I told my girls I needed someone to step up at the net and make plays and in the 4th game they got the job done,” Hill said.  “We got up on them 6-0 and never let down the rest of the match.”

“This team does not give up on any ball and I really saw a lot of improvement in my team Friday night,” Hill added, saying that she was “so incredibly proud of the girls” after their win.

Maggie Ryan had a solid performance with 37 digs and two aces, while her sister Mary Ryan had 10 kills and two blocks.

The Lady Cats will travel to Lovell on Thursday and will return home for their homecoming game against Shoshoni on Saturday.
