Fourth graders admitted to National Parks for free

Being in touch with nature is a beautiful thing. Books, songs, and poems have been written about it and people still photograph, draw, and paint the beauty of the outdoors on a regular basis. This love of the outdoors is something that should not be available to the lucky few, but open to anyone. The White House has taken a step forward to help more families afford to visit our nation’s national parks and lands with the “Every Kid in a Park” initiative.

Sponsored by the National Park Service and National Park Foundation, “Every Kid in a Park” strives to introduce kids to outdoor recreation by granting all U.S. fourth graders and their families free admission to America’s national parks, federal lands, and waters for the 2015-16 school year (September 2015 – August 2016). The only step needed on your part is to register for the program to receive your free pass.

Inspiration is at your doorstep, and lucky for us in Wyoming, there are several national parks and monuments to visit within a day’s drive! Take your pick: Yellowstone National Park, Devil’s Tower National Monument, Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Rocky Mountain National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Zion National Park, Glacier National Park, and more!
