The power of positivity is a powerful thing and it is highlighted in Casper native Jennifer Zerba’s new book, Healing Humanity from behind the Shears. A cosmetologist for 25 years, Zerba recognized the inevitable drama that seemed to linger in the cosmetology world. After attending a conference in Billings, Mont. she was inspired to write a book with the goal of inspiring others to stop the negative cycle.
Zerba worked at A Cut Above in Thermopolis for a little over two years and recognized the positive atmosphere she was working in. She remembers clients coming in to the salon and commenting on how nice everyone was and realized the domino effect that positivity would have on the rest of that person’s day, and any person that might interact with them.
The goal of Zerba’s book is to “bridge cosmetology and spirituality with intentional love.” The book teaches you to focus on positivity rather than just money and the general rule that “being nice matters.”
Although the setting of the book takes place in a salon, Zerba presses that the moral of her story can be used as a business philosophy as well as a goal for personal development.
Because the town of Thermopolis means so much and multiple people residing here were instrumental in the creation of her book, Zerba will be holding a book signing at Storyteller on August 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
