Fire Department
Wednesday, July 29
8:37 a.m. Fire fighters responded to a car wreck near the Pioneer Home in the State Park.
7:30 p.m. Fire fighters responded to a propane tank fire at 1145 Broadway.
Thursday, July 30
11:09 a.m. Fire fighters responded to a fire alarm at 250 E. Arapahoe.
Sunday, August 2
12:09 p.m. An alley grass fire was reported at 231 Clark.
12:12 p.m. Fire fighters responded to a motorcycle accident on Hwy. 120 at mile marker 16.
At an unspecified time, fire fighters responded to a motorcycle fire at 614 West Sunnyside Lane.
Sheriff's Office
For the month of July, the Sheriff's Office issued eight criminal papers, 12 civil papers, zero property executions and zero sheriff sales.
Wednesday, July 29
11:35 a.m. An individual requested extra patrol for their property because after posting no trespassing signs, people were still trespassing on the property.
Saturday, August 1
11:31 a.m. A trespass complaint was reported by a woman on her ex-husband who was on her property. A deputy arrived and informed the man that he could not enter the property without an escort or permission from his ex-wife.
1:30 p.m. A road rage incident was reported when an individual was driving behind another car that was varying speeds. The driver decided to pass and the first car sped up and, after being passed, passed the other car. Obscene gestures were made and a deputy reported to a gas station where the vehicles stopped. The deputy warned both individuals about speeding and road rage.
2:17 p.m. Someone reported a suspicious male subject parked with a camper near Cottonwood Creek and Hamilton Dome Road. A deputy located the subject and determined the individual was only camping.
Sunday, August 2
5:24 p.m. A motorcycle owner requested a deputy file a state accident report for a motorcycle fire.
9:52 p.m. A car was reported hitting a deer. No injuries were reported.
Monday, August 3
2:21 p.m. Assault was reported while an individual was sorting cattle with another male subject. The two males were involved in a heated argument and the reporting party stated the male struck him. The reporting party visited the hospital for a suspected broken rib. A deputy spoke with both parties. The possible assaulting party did not claim to have assaulted the other and neither individual would make a written statement. No charges have been filed but the report will be forwarded to the county attorney.
Police Department
Tuesday, July 28
3:31 p.m. Theft of a wallet out of a vehicle was reported. No suspects have been identified at this time.
Wednesday, July 29
8:33 a.m. A car was reported hitting a multi-purpose vehicle in the State Park. An officer responded to the scene and filed a state accident report. Injuries were reported and one subject was transported to the hospital.
8:46 p.m. An officer arrested Cindee Reynolds, 34, for a warrant and was taken into custody.
Thursday, July 30
11:12 a.m. Someone reported a white Ford Explorer driving dangerously and almost driving into another vehicle north of town. An officer found the vehicle and spoke to four male subjects who said they had been admiring the views. The officer did not find the driver to be impaired.
11:06 p.m. Some one reported a "creepy" man who tried to give them an M14 gun. An officer responded and made contact with the suspect who was in possession of a pellet gun and did not admit to trying to give anyone a gun.
Friday, July 31
7:11 a.m. Damage to the new concrete behind the high school was reported. An officer made contact with the individual who had driven over the wet concrete. The driver was not aware that they had caused damage. Insurance information was recorded in the case a claim was filed.
8:35 p.m. A report of noisy neighbors was made. An officer arrived at the location and requested the subjects keep the noise level down.
Saturday, August 1
7:11 a.m. Suspicious activity was reported when someone saw a black vehicle pull out of a local church lot with no headlights and then back in again. An officer responded and contacted the owner of the vehicle who was having transmission issues and would move the vehicle the following day.
9:51 a.m. Someone reported a stolen pickup truck, last seen in front of their house. The individual was asked to come to the station to file a report but the person refused.
12:48 p.m. Vandalism to a rented bobcat was reported by a person building a house. An officer responded and found the hydraulic fitting had been broken. The officer determined extra patrol in the area would be provided.
Sunday, August 2
12:04 a.m. Suspicious activity was reported regarding a subject in a white Ford pickup truck honking the horn repeatedly. An officer responded and contacted the person in the truck who had a laptop propped on the steering wheel and was inadvertently honking the horn. The music in the truck was so loud the subject did not hear the horn honking but would stop the activity.
8:10 p.m. Thick smoke was reported in the area of 7th and Arapahoe Streets. An officer responded to the location and found someone had dumped hot coals on a mulch pile and caught it on fire. The subject put the fire out.
Monday, August 3
8:17 p.m. A dog attack was reported by an individual who was riding their bike and a dog ran out of a nearby yard and bit them on the thigh, bruising the skin but not puncturing. The dog was impounded until vaccination records could be provided.

Adopt-a-pet

Circuit Court
Forest Martin Whiteman had a jury trial scheduled for July 29 for a driving under the influence charge. The trial was continued to August 26.
Charles Granger's charges of possession of marijuana and possession of a powder or crystal were dismissed June 8.
Joe Boyd was found guilty of fraud by check at a jury trial on July 29. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
Paul Mathewson has a jury trial set for October 27 for possession of a powder or crystal, pill or capsule, and plant. Mathewson has another jury trial set for November 12 for use of a controlled substance.
Adam Gardner had a jury trial on July 28 where his battery charge was dismissed.
Gerald Bilger had a jury trial scheduled on July 31 which was continued to August 7 for probation revocation.
District Court
Paul Mathewson has an arraignment scheduled for August 17 for felony charges of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, methamphetamine, and delivery of a Schedule II controlled substance, methamphetamine.
Adam Gardner has a pretrial conference and change of plea hearing scheduled for August 31 for possession of a controlled substance.
Azia Martinez had a revocation of probation hearing on June 1 where her probation was revoked and she was sentenced to ten days in the Hot Springs County Detention Center.
Births
Kanon Wade Bomengen was born Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital, to Lisa and W. Travis Bomengen of Thermopolis.
He weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces, and was 20.25 inches long.
Grandparents are John and Sally Reynolds of Rozet, Wyo. and Bob and Mavis Bomengen of Lakeview, Ore.
