Ricky Allen Heinze, 55, of Casper, Wyo., died after a long downhill battle with cancer on Friday, July 31, 2015.
Rick was born on January 22, 1960, to Alex Allen and Janet A. Heinze in Thermopolis, Wyo. The family later moved to Miles City, Mont., where Rick attended school graduating from Custer County High School in May 1978. Rick entered the Air Force out of school and was stationed at Edward Air Force Base in California. While at Edwards he met and married Julie Dubois. To this union son, Joshua was born in 1980. The couple later divorced. Rick was then stationed with the Air Force in Omaha, Neb. He left the Air Force in 1986 and moved to Denver, Colo., where he joined the Air Force Reserves. A daughter Breanna Heinze was born during this time.
Rick moved to Casper in 1990 where he met and married Roxanne Petty. He gained 3 stepchildren in this marriage. Rick and Roxanne enjoyed 25 years of marriage and were still living in Casper when he became ill. Rick was employed by Nalco and previously Univar, as a hazardous chemical material handler, delivering chemicals to oilfields as needed.
Rick loved to camp enjoying many quality times spent up on Casper Mountain, or in his boat at Alcova Lake. He loved and was very devoted to his family and his pets. He was very witty with a wonderful sense of humor making everyone smile. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Roxanne; stepchildren Adam Petty, Stephanie Miller and Steven Carothers of Casper; daughter Breanna Heinze of Denver, Colo.; son Joshua (Heinze) Brobeck of Whitebear Lake, Minn.; two sisters, Melody Zeitner of Augusta, Ga. and Karla Lange of Westminster, Calif.; mother Janet Parent of Thermopolis, Wyo.; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rick is preceded in death by his father, Allen Heinze; his grandparents, Alex and Pearl Heinze; and his grandparents Ed and Adele Urwin.
Visitation for the family will be Thursday, August 6, 2015, between 6 p.m. and 7 pm at Bustard's Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at the Veterans Cemetery in Evansville at 2 p.m. on August 7.
The family would appreciate donations instead of flowers to Central Wyoming Hospice, Children's St. Jude Cancer fund, or Wyoming Veterans Motorcycle Association.
