Fire Department

Wednesday, July 22

1:45 p.m. Fire fighters responded to a fire alarm at 110 East Broadway.

Monday, July 27

12:25 p.m. Report of a possible grass fire when smoke was reported South of Kirby. Fire fighters responded but no fire was found.

4:52 p.m. Fire fighters responded to a possible grass fire near Murphy Dome.

6:25 p.m. Fire fighters responded to a haystack fire at 2520 Owl Creek Road.

Sheriff's Office

Tuesday, July 21

2:02 p.m. Deputies arrested Gerald Bilger on a Hot Springs County warrant.

Thursday, July 23

10:34 p.m. People jumping off a cliff at "Green Eye" were reported. Deputies arrived but the people were gone.

Friday, July 24

10:18 a.m. Report of a possible drunk driver. A deputy located the vehicle but could not find any probable cause to stop the driver.

10:54 a.m. Someone reported harassment from a neighbor who was standing in their road and looking at them and then later driving slowly by the reporting party's house. A deputy informed the reporting party that the neighbor had not left their property and the incident did not qualify as harassment.

Sunday, July 26

12:09 p.m. A deputy observed a person with a suspended driver's license driving and stopped and cited the individual.

8:04 p.m. Two horses were reported loose on South Yellowstone Road. The owner was contacted and the horses were caught.

Monday, July 27

8:15 a.m. Someone reported finding an American flag in the alley behind their house and wished to report the flag found if anyone was missing one.

12:26 p.m. Deputies and the fire department reported to an area South of Kirby to look for a possible fire but were unable to locate one.

Police Department

Tuesday, July 21

12:36 a.m. An officer located an individual serving probation in contact with a minor and was asked to leave. The probationer left and the officer wrote a report that was sent to probation and parole.

8:19 a.m. A hit and run causing damage to a garage door was reported on the 500 block of Richards Street. No suspects have been identified.

2:29 p.m. Someone reported a person keeping a raccoon in captivity. An officer reported the issue to the Game and Fish Department.

4:20 p.m. An officer arrested Santana Kenner on a warrant from Wyoming Department of Corrections.

4:53 p.m. An individual reported possible stolen items from their home. An officer arrived at the residence and determined that two people were in the process of a breakup and one person had moved out while the reporting party was at work and had taken some items that the reporting party thought belonged to them. The reporting party requested a trespass notice but the officer informed them that a trespass notice could not be served on someone who still claimed residence.

8:30 p.m. Loud noises, possibly fireworks, were reported. The noise had been going on for a while and was upsetting the reporting party's dog. An officer reported to the area and found people setting off a potato gun. The people were asked to find a different location to shoot the gun.

10:42 p.m. Someone reported drivers of a light colored truck with temporary tags talking about being "trashed" while driving. An officer located the vehicle but did not find evidence of drunk driving. Because the driver had a restricted license, the officer told the driver to go home.

Wednesday, July 22

4:29 p.m. A person displaying threatening activity was reported. Officers responded and took the person into protective custody under Title 25.

7:18 p.m. Someone reported a person driving recklessly on a regular basis; however officers were unable to locate the driver.

Thursday, July 23

3:04 p.m. Trespassing was reported when an individual moved a parked RV from a residence. The possible trespasser was contacted and told officers they had arranged for a third party to move the RV because it was in their name as well as the home owner's name. An officer told the person that they could not have a third party enter the property on their behalf and should contact law enforcement to assist with property removal instead when a trespass order is in place.

5:26 p.m. Report of a dog tied up in a yard with no residents and no water available. An officer arrived at the residence but the dog had been taken inside by someone.

6:21 p.m. Two vehicles collided while travelling on Broadway when one vehicle attempted to change lanes. An officer arrived and completed a state accident report.

Friday, July 24

7:47 a.m. A vehicle was reported stolen and entered into the national database. Washakie County Police Department called later to report the vehicle in their custody and that it had been involved in suspicious activity the night before and abandoned. During an ensuing investigation the owner was found to be untruthful and cited for false reporting.

2:01 p.m. A small black chihuahua was reported to be left in a vehicle with the windows rolled up. An officer located the dog and vehicle and found the dog to be alright. The officer located the owner and discussed the situation with them.

Saturday, July 25

12:48 a.m. A dark blue sports car was reported "spinning cookies" and running a stop sign in East Thermopolis. An officer was unable to locate the vehicle.

1:34 p.m. A minor reported an assault by another minor. An officer discussed the situation and found that the two minors had been arguing and when the reporting party pushed the other minor, that person struck back. The situation was not determined to be assault.

5:29 p.m. An accident was reported when two vehicles were backing out of parking spots at the same time and when one vehicle swerved to miss the other, the vehicle hit another parked vehicle. An officer responded to the accident and filed a state accident report.

7:54 p.m. A business owner reported a customer dining in their establishment and leaving without paying. The incident is under investigation.

7:55 p.m. Someone reported an automatic medication dispenser and medication stolen from their home. No suspects have been identified.

Sunday, July 26

3:04 a.m. Loud, intoxicated neighbors were reported in an RV park. The reporting party asked the neighbors to quiet down but they did not. An officer arrived at the location but the people had already left.

Monday, July 27

2:56 p.m. Several 911 calls were placed. After further investigation officers determined that children were playing with an old cell phone.

4:15 p.m. A pit bull mix puppy was found in a trailer park. After owners could not be located, an officer impounded the dog.

8:56 p.m. An officer was flagged down by a citizen that found a brown and white boxer mix dog with a choker chain. The dog was impounded.

Births

Paislee Mae Bryngelson was born Monday, July 20, 2015, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Cara Bryngelson of Worland, Wyo.

She weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces, and was 20.25 inches long.

Grandparents are Todd and Jodene Bryngelson of Worland, Wyo.

Ryker Bren Weber was born Monday, July 20, 2015, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital to Jessica and Chris Weber of Thermopolis.

He weighed 4 pounds, 9 ounces, and was 16.5 inches long.

Grandparents are Billy Flinn of Thermopolis, Pete and Amy Schinke of Wisconsin, Ken and Leone Weber of Wisconsin and Mary Jane Brown of Thermopolis.

Circuit Court

At a pretrial conference on July 24, Lori Guttke was sentenced 120 days in jail, with credit for 15 days for probation revocation. She has a jury trial scheduled for November 3 for criminal trespassing.

Houston Headley established a payment plan for $100/month starting September 1 after arrest for failure to pay fines on July 21.

Robert Clifford has a jury trial set for December 2 for driving under the influence 3rd, littering,and driving without an ignition interlock device.

Gerald Bilger has trial set for July 31 for probation revocation.

Warranty Deeds

Henry E. Bond and Mary S. Bond to Kevin A. Skates and Connie L. Skates land in section 2, Township 42 North, Range 95 West of the Sixth Principal Meridian, Hot Springs County, Wyoming.
