Relay for Life set for August 7

The annual Relay for Life, benefitting the American Cancer Society, is just around the corner, and with an 80’s theme, should be a fun night for all involved.

The Relay will be held in Hot Springs State Park on Friday, Aug. 7, starting with a survivors, caregivers and teams dinner at 6 p.m.

Opening ceremonies will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the survivor’s lap at 7 p.m.

The luminaria ceremony will be at 9:30 p.m. Luminaries are still available for $5 each or three for $10. Please call Jessica Slagle at 864-9466 or 921-9765 for more information or to purchase your luminary.

Throughout the night there will be all kinds of fun and games, including a water gun fight, an 80’s dance off and Olympic games.

There will also be fun for the kids with a sprinkler park and a bouncy house, which opens at 4 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m.

The public is invited to come to the park for the festivities and to cheer your favorite Relay team.

Things come to a close on Saturday morning at 6 a.m.
