Looking for bridge players

Thermopolis resident Rex Clothier recently earned a “Life Master” award for bridge playing, and although he has retired from tournament and competitive play, he still carries an abiding interest in the game and would like to share his knowledge with anyone wishing to learn about the age-old game.

Some years ago, Thermopolis hosted duplicate bridge tournaments that brought in players from all over the state. Clothier, however, would just like to share the fun of playing the game with others without the intimidation of competitive play.

“If the game isn’t fun, why would it be the most popular card game in the world,” he said.

Clothier would like to make lessons available for up to 16 people, free of charge except for the cost of materials needed for the lessons. The participants would choose their own materials based on previous experience.

He anticipates no fewer than six lessons and experienced players would be on site to serve as advisors and mentors to those just learning the game.

As the most socially played card game throughout the world, all skill levels can enjoy it as well as all age levels, from youth to seniors and anyone in between.

Once at least ten people have shown a desire to get in on the fun, a meeting and schedule for lessons will be established. Anyone interested in learning this universally popular game may contact Clothier at 864-9368 with your name and phone number.
