Park Superintendent Kevin Skates bottle feeds female bison calf, Falina, at the corrals in the bison pasture. Falina is a three-month old calf that State Park employees were able to capture after noticing her mother was not producing any milk. Falina was captured shortly after her birth on April 20 and ever since Skates and a slew of volunteers have been bottle feeding her until she is able to fully rejoin the herd and feed herself. For now, the calf is familiarizing herself with the herd but returning to the bison barn at mealtime for her twice-daily bottle break. Visitors to the state park can currently see Falina in the bison pastures and later with the smaller herd on T Hill as she becomes fully accustomed to life as an adult bison.
